I arrived in Lemoore, California in the year 1978. I was enrolled in third grade at Island Elementary School after our arrival. It was then that I began to have seizures at the young age of 9, and all other signs of epilepsy. I learned to speak English within the school year. I believe that in our life, we need some level of education to gain knowledge. Education was a must in my family. I joined school sports and activities when I could participate to have fun. I graduated from P.W. Engvall middle school in the year of 1985. I graduated from Lemoore Union High School in 1989. A year later, I married Jesus Curiel Palomera and we had a son named Jesus Wathing Curiel Jr., he was born in a special day on Christmas Eve in 1991. I graduated from West Hills College in May 2007 and was seizure-free.

God and my 21-year old son Jesus Walthing Curiel Jr. are my motivation. It’s my sincere hope that this book of mine brings hope and enjoyment and possibility sparks in you a light of creativity and passion. Poetry is one of my many passions and my first love and in sharing this love with everyone who reads. I’m filled with joy sharing my poetries with my future audience. God gave me a second chance in life after experiencing death for two minutes after a Temporal Brain Surgery back in 2001. Since then, I have written many poems about my daily life and embracing each emotion with my family, love, inspirational and school. Sharing the meaning of being alive and not taking life for granted. Sharing life experience with other is the best way to reach out to others. My life has been an open book of poetry.
